Biography

 

Serguei Povaguin was born in 1980 in Klintsky, Russia.

 

As a teenager he moved to Spain. He studied Fashion and Textile design in Barcelona at the ESDI (Escuela Superior de Diseño de Sabadell) where he graduated in 2004. He later graduated also at the University of Southhampton.

Since 1998 he has been living and working in Barcelona where his atelier is located, and where in early 2007 he set up his own company and brand.

The most noted among his first projects are “I love Spain” which won him the ModaFad Pure White Award to the best collection (Summer 2002); and “Flamenco” presented at the London Graduates Week (May 2004), the Berliner Durcheise Preview (July 2004) and the Genial Fashion STIB (September 2004). Movement and dance influence both early collections: flamenco and ballroom dances of the thirties were an inspiration.

During 2005 and 2006 he presented various collections at CreaModa Bilbao, Barcelona Fashion Week, Pasarela Gaudí and Barcelona Bridal Week.

Since February 2008 he has presented his collection with shows in Cibeles, Madrid Fashion Week where in September 2008 he was awarded with the L’Oreal Prize for Best Collection, in Ego de Cibeles.

In February 2009 he wins again the L’Oreal Prize for Best Collection in Ego de Cibeles.

In September 2009 presents his SS 2010 collection in Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week.

He regularly shows his collections during Paris Fashion Week in Rendez-Vous Femme showroom.
